This fun eclectic bistro is where the locals hang out and where they bring out of town guests when they want to have an impressive evening with a cool casual feel. Owner/Chef Mark Abernathy calls Loca Luna’s cuisine, “Nouveau Schizophrenic” because it’s all over the map and truly is one of those places where there is something for everyone. At dinner the focus is on grilled meats, fresh seafood, creative pastas, and wood fired, brick oven pizzas. It’s international cuisine with a southern twist. The lunches are legendary. In addition to outstanding soups, salads and sandwiches, Loca Luna offers award winning “Best Plate Lunches” (Gourmet Plate Lunches) with traditional Southern roots. Items like pot roast, chicken fried steaks, chicken and dumplings all with a huge assortment of home style vegetables like greens and real mashed potatoes with pork thyme cream gravy. Great appetizers, and homemade desserts round out the offerings.

Fun is the simplest description. Loca Luna feels like you’re in a trendy bistro in New Orleans or San Francisco, but with that special Little Rock hospitality. It is casual cool, you’re comfortable in jeans, shorts or a suit. You might have a State Senator at one table, a family at the other, a good ole boy, a wealthy ad exec or even an ex-President of the United States. A beautiful outdoor New Orleans patio awaits you when the weather’s nice.

Loca Luna is known for having not only a great list but unbelievably LOW PRICES. Most bottles are priced under $ 30.00 and many of the wines on the list are $ 20 – $ 30 less than what other area restaurants charge. There are over 40 wines but the glass plus a nice selection of $ 5.00 special feature wines. Chef Abernathy believes, “We shouldn’t triple the price of a bottle of wine just because we pulled the cork out.”
